Faculty Research Hailed as “On the Radar” in American Libraries

UBC iSchool faculty member Dr. Victoria Lemieux’s work on visual analytics received a mention as a new direction for LIS schools and graduate work in American Libraries, in an article by Beverly Goldberg examining “What’s New in LIS Schools.” The final section in the article mentions Dr. Lemieux’s work with Dr. William Wong of University College London, researching the use of visual analytics to do risk analysis of financial systems. From the article: “Imagine,” ALA Office for Accreditation Director Karen O’Brien told AL. “Information studies at the center of helping avoid the next financial meltdown.”
