Vancouver, BC, BC

Looking for an exciting opportunity to gain valuable library and archival skills working with unique First Nations material? Interested in how libraries and archives assess and develop their collections? Want to add to real-world experience to your C.V.? Interested in a free lunch?

If so, you won’t want to miss the Xwi7xwa Library Collection Inquiry Workshop! Our materials have been in storage too long and we need your help to get them accessioned.

Gain hands-on experience assessing Xwi7xwa’s First Nations library and archival materials, which were donated by our wonderful communities. This free, one-day workshop will take you through the steps of exploring, identifying, evaluating, and describing library and archival material, while providing an opportunity to participate in a major academic library project! The program will include set instruction, working, and discussion times facilitated by Xwi7xwa Librarians, UBC Archivists and SLAIS faculty.

The workshop will meet at Koerner Library, room 216, on Friday, April 25th at 10:00am. The workshop will run until 4:00pm. Please RSVP to ensure your free lunch.
