Call for Volunteers – Indigenous Special Issue of Cataloging & Classification Quarterly

Dear iSchool students,

As Guest Editors of the Indigenous Special Issue of Cataloging & Classification (CCQ), we are recruiting volunteers to vet manuscripts in preparation for publication Spring 2015. The original call for papers is available at http://www.catalogingandclassificationquarterly.com/1401-callpap.html

We expect receipt of final draft manuscripts between Dec 8, 2014 – Jan 30, 2015. The volunteer work will be conducted online, and requires a good eye for detail and conscientious attention to citation accuracy. Each volunteer will be asked to vet 1 or 2 manuscripts, with a 7-day turn around for each manuscript.

The tasks include the following:
– check all citations for accuracy
– check all URL links
– check accuracy of all quotes
– ensure consistent use of American spelling
– ensure consistent use of Chicago Manual of Style notes and bibliography system where bibliographic citations are provided in endnotes. Endnotes must be sequentially numbered in superscripts at the end of each reference in the text and a corresponding endnote. The Chicago Manual of Style 16th edition is available online via UBC Library. Previous CCQ issues provide examples of CMS style.

If you would like more information, or are interested in participating as a project volunteer, please contact Ann (address below). Volunteers please include a brief statement of your qualifications, and the dates you are available to vet a manuscript(s).

Thank you.

Best wishes,
Cheryl and Ann
