Students are invited to participate in the first-ever Open Data Learning Summit for librarians and information professionals in BC. This event is being co-organized by the BC Libraries Cooperative, in partnership with the Office of the Information & Privacy Commissioner BC, and Libraries and Literacy, BC Ministry of Education.
Students can obtain a free registration by volunteering. Five spots are available for student volunteers, sponsored by SLAIS, The iSchool at UBC. Volunteers will be asked to help with registration and write session summaries. There is also a lower student registration rate for those who prefer.
If you are interested in a volunteer position, contact Debra, the graduate secretary, at slais.gradsec@ubc.ca, by 12 noon Monday September 10. Your spot will be confirmed by Debra, so if you don’t get a confirmation you aren’t registered. You can then register yourself if you are still interested (registration deadline is September 14).
Please note – this event happens the same day as The Art & Science of Reading Digital Symposium, sponsored by the iSchool’s Digital Information Interaction Group (DiiG).
