UBC’s Annual Walkabout Project (All Students)

Four members of the iSchool’s First Nations Curriculum Concentration, along with Assistant Professor Lisa Nathan, are participating in UBC’s annual Walkabout Project. This year’s Walkabout is held in conjunction with the Faculty of Education’s Year of Indigenous Education initiative. Kate Clayborne, Sheena Gardner, Carrie Grinstead, Vikki Killington, and Dr. Nathan, under the team name “InfoMavens,” are counting their steps until April to complete a virtual journey through British Columbia. In keeping with the theme of Indigenous Education, those walking will virtually visit participating First Nations communities throughout province, using materials gathered from the communities to learn about their diverse cultures.
