Call for Literacy Mentor Volunteers!

Share your love of reading and writing with kids who need your help: volunteer for the Writers’ Exchange!

The Writers’ Exchange is a non-profit organization that runs free literacy programs for at-risk kids in East Vancouver. As a volunteer mentor, you can help with after-school tutoring, creative writing projects, literacy games and cool crafts, or support a small group of kids during in-school book-making programs.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help with our after-school programs (Mondays to Thursdays; 3:00-5:00 ) and our in-school programs (Mondays to Fridays; times vary).

Our volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds, so everyone is welcome!

This is a great opportunity to gain classroom experience for individuals planning on pursuing an education degree. As well as an opportunity to gain experience in program planning for librarians and future librarians.

If you love kids, reading and writing, and are looking for a way to make a difference in someone’s future, join our volunteer team at www.vancouverwe.com, or contact Stacey at smatson@vancouverwe.com, or 604-428-8228.
