Dear Colleagues

I am pleased to let you know about some new information on the SCONUL website, which has been produced on behalf of the SCONUL Strategy Group on User Experience and Success. This is a literature review on the contribution of information literacy and libraries to the development of graduate employability skills, produced by Megan Wiley, University of Bristol, under the guidance of Jackie Chelin, University of the West of England, one of our Group members. The Strategy Group’s remit includes information literacy, and over the last year we have been focusing on situating libraries’ “traditional” information literacy role in the new broader academic skills landscape, and the development of graduate attributes.

Using this review as a basis, we will be working on some case studies and advocacy tools for librarians working in this area, and to address this significant driver for development within institutions. We are also intending to create an Employability “Lens” for the SCONUL 7 Pillars Information Literacy model.
